In today’s world, self-care is often associated with spa treatments, facials, and salon visits. While these are wonderful ways to pamper oneself, true self-care goes far beyond external beauty. It is about nurturing the mind, body, and soul—aligning ourselves with inner harmony and balance.
This International Women’s Day, I want to share a different perspective on self-care—one that has transformed my life and continues to empower me every day. My self-care routine doesn’t involve beauty treatments; instead, it revolves around sound, vibration, and mindfulness.
Every morning, I dedicate an hour to myself—a sacred time for yoga, meditation, mantra chanting, and my daily vocal riyaz (practice). This is not just a ritual; it is my way of realigning my energy, balancing my chakras, and strengthening my decision-making abilities.
My Self-Care Ritual: A Journey Through Sound and Stillness
1. Yoga: Awakening the Body’s Energy
My day begins with yoga, a practice that stretches and energizes my body while activating my chakras. The asanas (postures) help release any tension, ensuring that my body is in sync with my breath and inner rhythm.
2. Meditation: Cultivating Inner Stillness
After yoga, I sit in silence and meditate. This practice allows me to tune out the noise of the world and tune into my own intuition. Meditation helps me clear my mind, stay centered, and make balanced decisions throughout the day.
3. Mantra Chanting: The Power of Sacred Vibrations
Chanting mantras is one of the most profound tools for self-care. The vibrations of each syllable resonate deep within, cleansing my energy and balancing my chakras. Mantras help me stay focused, calm, and in alignment with my true self.
4. Vocal Riyaz: Finding Strength in My Own Voice
As a musician and sound healer, my voice is my instrument, and my daily riyaz is essential. But this practice is more than just training my vocals—it is a way of connecting with my inner power. The sound frequencies I create not only enhance my singing but also regulate my emotions and energy.
